eCS FixTool Now Available for Download

November 12, 2001 by Bob St.John

eCS FixTool Now Available for Download The FixTool based on IBM's fixpack is now available for download. Always a good idea not to apply fixes unless you are having problems which you believe will be corrected by the fixes. And please ... read the documentation.

Parts of the readme.txt:

3. eCSUpdt must run from an HPFS or JFS drive and will require 30 Mb of free space on that drive. You must be running the standard OS/2 command processor (not 4OS2).

Known issues:

If you have applied the latest updates to JFS, the application of XR_C001 will back-level those updates, and you will need to apply them again.

The installation and removal of SMP support has been tested, but there is an outstanding issue with IBM on the use of Peer services with SMP systems. The test fix is not included with this package so proceed at your own risk.

The eCSUpdt work directory, even though it contains no files, may not be removed correctly at the end of processing, and I don't know why. If it is not removed, you may want to manually remove it.

Change Log:
Build 2001.11.09
Replace Rx_delpath subroutine with a call to SysDestroyObject.
Corrected routine for clearing attributes on OS2.INI and OS2SYS.INI.
Allow for spaces in current directory name.
Add check for standard command processor.
Add check for HPFS or JFS and sufficient free space.
