May 12, 2004 by Mark Dodel
May 11, 2004 - Warpstock 2004, the eighth edition of the annual Warpstock event, will be held in Denver, Colorado, October 21st thru 24th, 2004. The Warpstock conference is a gathering of OS/2 users, developers, and vendors from around the world for the purpose of education and advocacy. More information is available at the Warpstock web site:
<http://www.warpstock.org> We are now accepting papers for presentation at the 2004 event.
Presentations range from introductions to general computing topics (such as home networking, wireless networking, hardware support and installation issues) to advanced programming classes (such as programming in C/C++) and using cross-platform development tools (such as Java, PERL, XML, XUL, PHP and REXX). A sample of previous years' sessions included topics on OpenOffice.Org, Virtual Machine technology, OS/2 and Novell networking integration, and product demonstrations (including Stalker Software's CommuniGate Pro and Serenity System's eComStation (the newest OEM version of OS/2)). If you want to contribute but you're stumped for topics, take a look at our Web site at
Please submit a brief (250 word) synopsis of the topic, as well as your name, contact information (E-mail address or phone number) and a single paragraph explaining who you are and why you feel qualified to explain this topic. Please state the expected time duration of your presentation. This year we have expanded the event to four days to allow for inclusion of some 4 hour classes as well as the traditional 60-90 minute sessions. Send your presentation submission to Paul Curtis at email@example.com
