eCS and IBM Fixpacks for MCP

We are currently testing the IBM fixpack which is intended for distribution to Merlin Convenience Pack users. These tests make it clear that eCS users should not apply the IBM fixpack until further notice. This particularly true for eCS Pro (SMP) users as the IBM fixpack do not recognize the SMP configuration.

eCS has made changes to the software and the base IBM fixpack does not take these into account. Applying the fixpack could cause an eCS user to lose function, or worse. We are working with IBM to customize the fixpack so eCS changes are considered. Or, when this is not possible, the user would be aware of any actions which may need to be taken to restore an eCS feature.

Right now, the IBM fixpack is not in distribution, so this message is pre-emptive. We'll provide more details soon.
