eComStation 1.1 Released
May 24, 2003 by Bob St.John
Serenity Systems announces the release of eComStation 1.1
products. The new product branding includes the separation of OS
platform component from some of the applications which had been
included in eComStation 1.0. Users may now select from
eComStation Entry, the OS platform component, and the
eComStation Application Pack. The multiprocessor support is available as an optional feature as well, and a server edition based on Warp Server for e-business is also available.
Users getting their first glimpse of eComStation Entry are
impressed with enhancements to the CD installation program which
makes eComStation a better fit for today's "non-legacy" hardware
systems. The installation program uses IBM CID technology to
create a response file, which makes the first installation
easier for users; and the file can be shared, re-used, and even
edited for subsequent installation events. eComStation 1.1 Entry includes additional Internet connection support, enhanced UI with
integration of XWP features, and even support to read NTFS
partitions.
eComStation 1.1 provides users with a low cost package which
includes the most up to date distribution of IBM OS/2 4.52.
Serenity Systems has a track record of delivering product
enhancements through its web site. Now, it has released a
significant update which existing OS/2 and eComStation users are
sure to enjoy, and new users will find to be friendly, easy to
install and to use, with the industry's most powerful UI,
delivering leading price performance, reliability, stability,
and scalability.
Promotional pricing for existing eComStation users is available until June 15.
